Eye Drops

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey All,

During AAMC 5 today, my eyes began to burn from the constant staring at the screen.

Anyone know if we can bring eye drops to use during the breaks?

my testing center had a small tray outside of the computer room where you stored things like eye drops. so to answer your question "yes" i had advil in my tray 🙂

Some tips:
Don't take practice tests in a dark room, make sure there's plenty of ambient light
Look away from the screen in between passages

Spend more time on SDN until your eyes adjust to long screen exposure.

But really, I'm not sure. This isn't mentioned explicitly in MCAT Essentials, but it appears that you could have them in the break area with your stuff and use them during the breaks.

Edit: I didn't see what NED said. Yeah, that.

It depends on the testing center, It couldn't hurt to call ahead and ask. My testing center in downtown Chicago was fine with eyedrops during breaks.

Also, I work as an Optician.... I strongly recommend Systane drops, they are expensive but it sounds like they might work for you, they do a lot more than regular drops and last longer. You can find coupons online.
