Thats pretty neat. I'd personally opt for some sort of laser in my bionic eye.

I hope everything works out with that project, anybody know what effects a device like that would have if it shorted out while he was wearing it? Looked like a watch battery to me but who knows.
 
From what I understand (which is very little), when someone has a prosthetic the rest of the orbit takes on sort of a continuous palpebral conjunctiva-like composition, so if it did burst you could imagine what battery acid would do to the inside of the lower lid...

My bet is that the piece will be made in such a way that when he snaps the parts together, he can remove the prosthetic w/o it leaking. If there is any kind of moisture in the orbit, you'd want the device to be sealed off from it also.
