I have been having a nagging eye problem for the past three years now and can't seem to get the right help for the condition. I have been to 3 ophthalmologists and they were too complacent to even hear my side of the story; especially considering I'm the patient.
I first went in about 7 months after the conditions(2007) began because I had blapharitis but continued to man up and endure with work and daily activities without giving the conditions proper time to heal with meds, etc.
I was prescribed ophthalmologist ointment and told to use that but to no prevail. The condition was persistent at this point with me having to remove the crust from my eyelids every hour or so. I would do so sometimes with my finger nails everyday; especially at the inner eye where the caruncula is. As a result, I stretched out the distance of my eye set. My eyes appear to have a slight epicanthal fold now as a result. Granted, I wouldn't care if my eyes were hindered by my own stupidity but as a result I wake up everyday with an absurd amount of pain at the inner corners of my eye and overall in general. This pain is persistent throughout the day and to add to the list; I believe I suffer from severe dry eye from my actions.
My question is:
Is it possible to mess up your lacrimal ducts, etc. from my actions? The current doctor that I have recently seen is recommending me for punctual plugs. Keep in mind I'm only 22 years old.
Any help or suggestions to this epidemic will be greatly appreciated.
