Hello, my practice is trying to choose between EyemMedicWare and EyeMD and Nextech. Can anyone who uses these provide a review on their thoughts? Also would be helpful to know whether you use a scribe or if you are typing the notes yourself. Thanks!

Made a typo: it is "iMedicWare" not eyemedicware

We use nextech EMR as well as their PM system. It’s pretty good with few quirks. Their customer service is not the greatest. I use a scribe but could easily do most of the charting and billing myself if the volume of patients wasn’t so insane.

Side question (fellow here). I've only seen Nextech in practices with multiple sites (at least 8+ offices/ORs). Is it worth the price for a practice with only 2 offices?

I would stay far far away from iMedicWare. They were previously Eye Care Leaders which sold to Sightview. They have three garbage EMRs in their portfolio: the goal is to bleed the profits out.

EyeMD is dated. I remember demoing it and recalling what a mess it was.

Nextech is decent but definitely has issues with customer service. Their PM software is crap and I'd recommend using an alternative system (like Advanced MD). Nextech is very expensive. Our bill is near $10k/month for a 6 doc practice (for both PM and EMR). They do innovate, but they charge for every new feature implemented.

Other than maybe in the setup fee I don't believe you're charged per satellite. Just per doc.
