To get that far along in training and then be dismissed is not a trivial matter. Not for the program; not for you.

When we hear of stories like this the situation tends to be quite egregious because of all the necessary paperwork / documentation that goes into dismissal.

Without more info people can’t say. Do you have a future as a physician?
 
Has to be pretty bad to have been terminated as a chief. Agree with others that without details it’s difficult to give any real analysis.

But based on just the law of averages, yeah dude, you’re cooked.

You can get one of those wound care jobs I see endlessly advertised probably. Doesn’t require board certification or residency completion. Someone I know that was fired in residency transitioned to that and seemed to do ok.
 
Let me save others any trouble. Further information provided to me by PM from the OP demonstrate IMHO that the OP has no prayer of ever practicing as a surgeon/getting into any other kind of residency. Still might get a wound care job maybe but it depends on how close they look at OP’s background.

Concur. May have a chance of working as some sort of physician in the not-near future, but very very high probability that there is no future in a surgical setting.
