Self explanatory title. Is it worth it to switch to 2013 or 2014 FA because have 2011 already. Wondering if anyone has used FA 2011 for the 2013 exam and thought it was doable, or maybe totally regretted it... I'm an M2 getting started on prep now for a June exam.

Note: I don't mind that it isn't colored, just in terms of content

Agreed- definitely best to have the most recent edition (i.e get FA 2014 when it is released if you're planning on taking the test next June).

I used FA 2013 to prep for my test this summer and thought it was a worthwhile investment. While it may seem easy enough to go and annotate errata in a prior edition, it may become hard to keep track of those annotations alongside whatever you may write in on your own; it'll also be a bit of a chore especially since you'd be adding to a version of FA two editions prior. I found that accounting for errata wasn't simply a matter of writing it in but also taking a moment to understand the relevant corrections for whatever you were correcting, so I'd do them in the chapter I was currently covering rather than simply writing them in all in one go.

The advice I've received is to have the newest edition.

Will do. Thanks guys. 🙂

Etorphine is right.

OP, you need to seriously take a look at the big picture and if you still can't see how vital your step score is in relation to an extra $15 then I promise I will send you $15 on paypal right now. PM me.

Yeah his point is valid and well delivered. I didn't invest in the colored FA 2013 because I'd heard of all the errata in 2012 that resulted from the re-structuring. I stuck with the non-colored 2011 which was familiar and had my M1 notes. Now, I will be switching halfway through M2. Just tedious and didn't think much would be changed in terms of content. I guess I stand corrected per... like.. everyone's opinion 🙂

Thanks for the offer haha.. I guess save it for some celebratory cookies or froyo in June!
