This is a question from a buddy (I am the loser already annotating FA as a just-started MSII)...Is it worthwhile to put off starting to use FA/annotate it along with courses until the 2008 edition comes out and start then, or would it be better to buy the 2007 edition now...Do they change much from year to year?

FYI...our curriculum is systems based - do all the physio, pharm, and path together - the courses we have until the end of the year include a general path (like 1st 7 chapters of robbins or whatever)/pharm intro, neuro, blood, and musculo/skeletal.

Thanks so much for any advice anyone has. 🙂

IMO FA really isn't detailed enough to be of much use during regular med school courses. For most people a good approach to the pre-clinical years is just to study hard for your classes. Follow this with about 6 weeks of solid board studying and you should be good to go. I realize 6 weeks doesn't sound like a lot of time to review everything you've learned in 2 years of med school, but it is. Trust me.
