After hearing so many different opinions regarding the use of FA, I'm hoping someone could shed some light on the issue.

To reap the full potential of FA one has to have a clear understanding of the concepts written in FA. Fa will not make the connections for you. Assuming someone understands the concepts and has made all the connections, is FA enough to just master the material?

First Aid + USMLE world bank (w/o world bank, FA don't mean a whole lot)

FA with WORLD, up to 235- 240, yes.

adding in other stuff (Goljan, Taus method, repeating world, other qbanks, high yield books, DIT/Kaplan courses/DVDs) etc will expose you to more connections AND content. FA does exclude a lot of stuff but its usually low yield.

A lot of it depends on you. If you crammed facts during second year for your exams, you will probably find FA difficult to understand and not have any preformed connections. If you tried hard, did well, and REALLY understood the material during your second year, FA + world is definitely sufficient to refresh the connections/facts.
