Does anybody, besides myself, wonder why Columbia is the only dental school that requires 3 letters of recommendations from science professors? I find it quite annoying, seeming that i have sent them all out and I'm still looking for another science professor. For those of us that go to large universities, it's very hard to ask a professor to write a letter when they've never known your name amongst the other 500 students. Also, some schools ask, or atleast suggest sending a letter from a dentist. Would an application be deemed less lustrious if my letters were sent, but i'm still waiting on a dentist's letter?? Oh yeah, I think AADSAS needs to make a darn website that includes the information for what every dental school requires and the procedure for sending it. There is no uniformity in this system, and it drives me crazy. One last thing, does anybody think creighton's website is absolutely horrible?? http://cudental.creighton.edu/default.htm 🙄

You should check out UNLV (they want 4 LORS + a Dental LOR I think). AADSAS SUX period. There's a place somewhere on the AADSAS website that lists what each school wants (although I wouldn't really trust it). Yes Creighton's website is a little odd but all the information that you need to apply is listed on their website. Some schools don't list their mailing address, who to make checks out to, or stuff like that. Yes my post is full of rants. Until I get an acceptance somewhere, I'll be ranting day and night. 🙂

nope...unlv is like everyone else.. look

How many letters of evaluation are needed? Do I need a committee letter?
Three letters of evaluation are required of which two must be from science professors. It is preferred that the third letter come from a liberal arts professor but an employer, pastor, etc is acceptable. In addition to the 3 letters, a letter from a dentist you have observed or worked for is required. Not all schools have prehealth professions committees. If your school does, then a committee letter will fulfill the requirement of three letters.

I thought the actual website was the one I posted first. Check it out, it's quite funny. There is a MIDI playing in the background... hahaha. Plus the graphics are horrible. The website reminds me of how organized and professional AADSAS is!!!
