i understand that for competitive residencies like dermatology, radiology etc other things like LORs, USCE and clerk/obeserverships than just the usmle scores are highly needed.

but lets say i can get 250+ score in steps. do i still need LORs, USCE and clerk/obeserverships for INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY in USA?

kindly share your knowledge.

I don't claim to be an expert, but you'll still need those things. Just your letters don't have to be as good, probably don't have to have honors in clerkships, etc. You wont probably match at the big name programs but Im sure you'd match somewhere

You need everything a US grad would need. A couple of my friends who matched to IM this year needed LORs for every program (collectively they applied to probably >40 unique programs) and you need clerkships just to graduate in the states... so I would assume they are required for residency.
