Long-time forum poster and lurker, using a secondary account for reasons that will be apparent shortly....
I am going on the job market this fall for faculty positions in psychology departments. For those who have applied for these jobs and/or received them - were you ever drug tested, either during the selection process or hiring? I know there are other threads about being drug tested for practica/internship (and I've had that happen occasionally), but not sure how it works for faculty positions. This would be for hard-money (arts and sciences) positions, not grant-funded med school positions, if it matters.
FWIW, I realize that background checks, criminal record checks, etc. are all going to be standard for most faculty positions, particularly those involving clinical supervision or clinical work, and I'm not asking about those. Just the go to a random health office type place, pee in a cup, that kind of deal.
