Hi everyone...
I'm really unsure about the whole financial aide process. When accepted to a program and to figure out your financial aide package, does your FAFSA need to be completed prior? So should I get my taxes done asap, fill out my FAFSA, and then talk to a financial aide officer?😕

Yes, the school will rely on the info in the FAFSA to compute and grant aid packages. So complete the FAFSA as soon as you can (like, now). If you don't have final tax info, you can use estimates and fill out a correction later.

thanks for your help. so lets say i'm still waiting to hear back from schools, but not yet accepted. do i have to designate a school or can i just fill it out with out saying which school?

You can fill it out the FAFSA and designate all the schools you've applied to, even if you haven't heard back from them. If you get accepted, then the school would already have your FAFSA on file; if you don't then the school will just disregard it.

You are allowed to list up to 10 schools on the FAFSA
