Failed 1 unit in undergrad

I failed a 1 unit class in undergrad. I didn't attend it because I wasn't aware that there were attendance requirements, since no syllabus was ever handed out.

I just looked at my AMCAS. At the bottom it says,

Units P/F passed: 9.10
Units P/F failed: 0.70

Will this screen me out of certain schools?

What should I do about this?

But seriously though, you can't do anything. The only thing you can do is wait for schools to contact you and address it if it gets brought up by an interviewer (which it probably won't). Relax.

haha but seriously, ignore it. I failed a few 5 credit courses and I'm still here! One interviewer did have a nice time poking fun at my F in Art 101 though...so at least he got a good laugh.

If your GPA was decent, this not withstanding, you should be fine. I had my own scars on my record and I was accepted to multiple programs.

I'm just wondering, but since there was no syllabus handed out, can't you fight for that grade with the dean? As far as I know, a syllabus is similar to a contract. So if there is no syllabus, then there is no attendance requirement or document stating it.

Something you may want to try? You already got an F, i don't think it can get any worse from trying to override it 😛
