I failed one of my M1 neuroscience exams. However, as long as I do ok on the final I will be able to pass the course. After shadowing some neurologists, neuro is one of my top specialties of interest. I know it's super early, but will this failed exam count me out of a Neuro residency? Or at least be a red flag to a residency director?
Thanks for your thoughts!

First things first- you need to have an office visit with your professor and figure out why you failed and what you need to be doing differently to get that grade up. Failing anything makes you less desirable to everyone. That being said, you can still pass the class if you fail a test and probably all anyone other than you and your professor will see is your final grade.

Definitely not. Mattchiavelli's right that noone will see that exam. He's also right that you need to get your grade up. If you really think Neuro is your goal, it might be time to 'triage' (sacrifice other subjects to do well in Neuroscience - the grade itself won't matter but it's the foundation for the field, and a solid foundation is important). That being said, ideally you just need to get your grades up ;o) *tough love* lol
