Well i am only in my 2nd year, and my GPA is not where i would like it to be (3.5), as this semester is crucial i get a 4.0.

I am taking College Algebra(100 level), Anatomy and Phys II (300 level), and Microbiology (300 level).

I have High A's after 2 exams in both Algebra and A&P, but i ended up with a 59% on my first Microbiology exam.

I don't know what it is, i seem a bit uninterested in the subject, but i still study for it like i do for any class, i just happened to procrastinate a little bit, but i have done that in the past, easily making at least a B or even an A on the exam.

It may be worth while to mention this microbiology course is a hybrid with one lab a week with absolutely no lecture. So that may be the cause of my problem, as i have never taken a Science hybrid course before

Should i take a W, if by withdraw date i know i won't be able to make an A?
I already have one W on my transcript though.

Any advice is much appreciated
Thank You.

Try your best not to procrastinate for the next test. Also, I don't think it's too late to salvage your microbio grade since it was only your first test. Just study smarter at this point and I suggest not forming the habit of withdrawing from classes you think will be too hard to get a good grade in. Too many W's in your record will hurt you in the long run.

Make a schedule for every hour of your life, Monday thru Sunday! Sticking to this schedule might be hard for the first week, but it will definitely help. Good luck :luck: You have plenty of time to recover.

Microbiology... that course... 😡

Micro was definitely my fav class in undergrad. Hope things get better !

If there's no possible way you can make at least a B-, then perhaps take the W. Otherwise, I would just trudge on and work hard.

Read textbook and take notes. Go to class. Study. Works for almost any class and requires great self-control.

What was class average? Any curve?

I got a 64% once on a mid term - couldn't make it home and stopped at Burger King to cry and kiss my chances for med school good bye. Next day, found out the average was in the upper 30's. passed with an A.

I also had a semester (3 classes) with a GPA of 2.0 (all C's) - still accepted to med school.

If it's not a continuous low GPA, you should be fine
