Hello,

I recently took NAPLEX and failed by five. Incurred a penalty by not finishing with two questions but not sure it would have made a difference. First time I didn't finish the exam. My strategy for this exam was to maximize my score by doing well in the first half and guessing the second half will at least give me some points. Didn't work out.

I took the exam multiple times and scored within the same range of almost passing but not enough.. I'm not nervous when taking the exam. I did well in school and was a tutor for other students. It just feels all of my efforts are futile.

I have used RxPrep, Lange, LWW, Kaplan. I read that pronto pass and passnaplexnow are good resources from forum posts so I will try those out. Are there any other resources that others may suggest?

Thank you, losing hope but still in the fight, for now.

How many times have you taken the exam? I think after 4 or 5 times, you have to repeat classes before you can take the NAPLEX again. I'm sorry I don't have any advice. Is English your 2nd language? Are other students from your school having trouble passing? It is unusual for a good student to have that much trouble with the NAPLEX.

Learn the math well. It will let u pass the exam since it allows you to go through the exam much faster. I got mostly Cs in therapeutics in pharmacy school but learning the math still lets me pass by a decent margin. The total time I used for the exam was a little over 2 hours. Also I only used Rxprep and their test bank. Going crazy over 5 different resources will overwhelm you.

Also, read the question first, not the case. Then search through the pt profile to answer the question. This will keep ur mind clear and save a ton of time.

Lastly, never leave any blank. There is a HUGE penalty for not finishing all the questions. In fact, the penalty for not doing 2 is much bigger than just randomly clicking. You should've used the last 5 seconds of the exam to click an answer in and most likely you would have passed.

I am sorry to hear that. I agree with what SpartanLaser said for the case-based questions, read the question first before reading through the whole case. Before I was told to read the whole case, but I found it was best to look at the question and then look for relevant information based on the question (and never forget to look at allergies!). And I know it is important to do your best during the first half of the exam but the second half should not be completely sacrificed. Practice your calculations so that you could do it quickly and efficiently as well. I just used RxPrep and PassNaplexNow and it was more than enough in my opinion.

Good luck next time my friend.

Hi, May I ask you please?
1) Are math qs multiple choices or fill ins?
2) Does Naplex use Brands only? or both?
3)Does exam provides valence of the metals? K, NA,Ca etc. for mEq calculations? Or I should use mOSm?
4) D they provide charts for opiod conversions?
5) Did youhave compounding qs? Like creams, lotions, thickeners etc.
6) Did you see any questions asking to use Pint, Gallons etc, instead of milligrams, grams, milliliters?

Thanks

1. Both multiple choice and fill ins
2. both brand and generic
3. Didn't provide valence but it depends on the question
4. I didn't have any chart for opioid conversion
5. Yes I had compounding questions
6. Yes

Good luck 🙂

Thanks,

a few more please:
Is a wording on math qs somewhat close to rxprep problems or kind of hard wording like 120qs have?
Also, are the multiple choices that yuo had a,b,c,d, or e is as well ( like in rxprep) ?

Thanks.

Try to work on the topics and master the math that would help you rather then spending too much time on the test question patters etc. Make sure you take Pre-Naplex that gives a clear picture where you stand in terms of your prep.

I'm sorry to hear that. Keep your head up. I just took the Naplex and felt awful

I'm curious since I've read a few threads in regards to the NABP status changing from ATT generated to closed. Were you still able to register again for the Naplex after the status change?

Thanks and best of luck!

I just received news today that I passed the Naplex! I failed twice, before passing. I am a foreign graduate, so it was a bit difficult for me, but I was able to pass with flying colors. I used PASSNAPLEXNOW this time around, and it really worked wonders for me. I have the two course books (Version 14), and the quiz book if anyone would like to purchase them. The course books basically contain all the info of the lectures, in paragraph form. I haven't even touched the books, they're still in the box they came in. They're all in new condition. If anyone wants them, just let me know.
I'm interested,do you still have the materials?
