failed step 1

[USMLE1610]

i am an IMG. i took step 1 in march and my score was 189. i was really shocked because i took nbme 18 and got 252 on it one week before my exam. now i am finding it very hard to focus again because i am afraid that due to an attempt my chances of getting a residency are very low now(as i am not a US graduate either). please help, any advice ???????????

I don't know what to tell you, but that is an anomaly for someone to get 252 on NBME 18 and then fail step1 a week later.... Residency might become an uphill battle since you are an IMG. If you can get a 240+ on repeat and crush CK, program directors might think you probably had a bad day on your failed step1...
