Does anyone have any information on the family medicine residency at Jackson memorial Miami? What are your thoughts on the program? I would love to come back home to Miami for my residency. Thanks.

I transferred out from that program back to the midwest. The locale is perfect, the residents are great, faculty is also great, the problem is that since the hospital has so many specialties, we did not have the real chance to learn central lines and stuff while in ICU. Had to compete with Internal medicine residents, fellows etc. Inpatient FM however, is super goood, OMG you will see things that are only seen in books (and there of course). The clinic sucks, rare occasion had peds patient, mostly diabetes and non compliant hypertensive pts. OB forget it, has to do with politics with the OB department, there is significant problem with that, thanks god the requirement changed, the program was working to fix that situation by hiring an attending at the OB wards and to send the residents to another facility. Academic day is super good. In summary, go for it, if you have ties in Miami, they will love you. I had a lot of fun too.
