Hello Guys

Greetings!! i deadly need your opinion and advise about my case .

I am an IMG graduate 2008 , i am PGY2 resident in ACGME-international 4 years family medicine accredited program in qatar . I got ECFMG and done USMLE step 3 as well. my plan to work as a family physician for a while in canada to take the royal college exams of family medicine then i can apply for fellowship in usa in family medicine .so i intended to take MCCEE but I am not sure about the possibility to work in canada ( i am not seeking residency and i am not looking for certain place to work i am open to work anywhere in canada ).

my question is : if i secure a family practitioner position in for example Newfoundland , would it possible to be eligible to set royal college exam and be candian board certified without taking residency?

It would be helpful for you to better understand the organizations you refer to in your question.

The ACGME is a United States organization that accredits medical training programs located in the United States. It does not accredit programs in Qatar.

The 'royal college' is the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (jRCPSC). It accredits medical specialty training programs in Canada and administers examinations. the RCPSC does not accredit programs in Family Medicine.

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) takes care of family medicine. If the CFPC does not recognize training in Qatar, you won't get a job in NL. One does not work in NL as a family medicine practitioner in order to write exams. One takes exams first, then practices.

Thank you for your answer but i want to update your knowledge, ACGME accreditation is not exclusively in USA there are only two hospitals outside USA accredited by this accreditation (ACGME-I) , one in Singapore and the other in Qatar . Just googling ACGME-I .

ACGME-I is not the same as ACGME. It doesn't make you eligible for ACGME since ACGME only deals with the US. ACGME-I means it meets a standard but i don't think its approved in the US.
