Has anyone heard from FAMU?

They have 3 groups set for the interview process. The first group is pre-pharmacy students from FAMU with all the requirements for their spot, next is group 2 which should start next week is the group for pre-pharmacy students close but not meeting the requirements and outstanding transfer students. Finally, group 3 is for transfer students with not so good credentials and students that already received degrees for FAMU. This is based on a teacher who helps in the interview process. They have called a few people from Group 1 to let them know if they were accepted or not. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

FAMU2010, I'm assuming from your name that you go to the school already. Thanks for breaking all that info down. I just happen to be an out-of-state transfer. I'm not very optimistic right now but hopefully I can squeeze into Group 2 or 3 somehow. Quick question: do you know if it's possible to be considered for the last pre-professional year if you don't make it into the P1?

Now I could be mistaken but I think they only let students straight out of highschool into their pre-pharmacy program. Don't quote me on that but all of my pre-pharmacy classmates came straight out of high school. I think for transfer they want a gpa of 3.5 or higher, just make sure you are always checking on your status. A friend of mine who is a year ahead did not get her acceptance notification until a week before school started and the office thought they had already notified her. This is an extreme case but still do your best to call in. If you need further info feel free to ask and good luck.

Whoa....ok!!! Optimism has gone down 2 more notches. Don't know what to think anymore. Really want to go to this school. I spoke to a lady in the Pharmacy Admissions office and she said I can apply to the university as a different major and then maybe switch majors the following year and try to get into pharmacy again. I dunno :scared: Any inputs?

That could maybe work, but maybe try to boost up your GPA before you switch back. It makes things easier if you show them you can improve even if you haven't reached your goal just yet. Also if you do end up going to FAMU make sure that you try to get your name and face known at the pharmacy building. Trust me, it makes things much, much easier for you.

It's the 3rd week of May already. Anyone have any updates? Interviews?
