I have ciompleted the FASFA for dental school. On my application status on FASFA web site, my eligibility for stafford loan may be 20500. is this maximum loan available amount for dental school normally for a year or per semester? or it is for only me.

My school web site has a different maximum amount of loan available for both sub + unsub. They said $38500 of maximum loan is possible for year.

20500 is the maximum any graduate student can get from Stafford Loan. It is only for one year. If your school tuition and living is 38500 then you would get a 20500 stafford and a 18000 private loan (hopefully subsidized). Some people get less for stafford loans because their parents or spouses make to much money.

Not exactly. Everyone gets the maximum stafford limit the ratio of unsub to sub is the only thing that changes.

Dental school has a similar limit to your stafford amount and should be roughly 40,000. Even if you were not eligible for the full amount of staffords up to your cost of attendance you could fill in the rest with grad plus loans.
