In FA 2012 on page 119 it says that after day 3 of starvation adipose stores become the major source of glucose. In kaplan biochem review book, however, it states that after 1 week adipose becomes the major fuel. Before that glycogen is the primary source for day 1 and protein for day 2 to week 1.
