Anyone else noticed that there have been a lot of movies lately in which the main character is a dentist? Good Luck Chuck, Wild Hogs, Ghost Town, and The Hangover are just a few off the top of my head, and I think all of them have this hilarious (sarcasm) exchange in them somewhere...

Main Dentist Guy:"No it's ok, I'm a doctor"
Friend: "Don't say you're a doctor, you're just a dentist"

Anyway, I'm thinking Andy in The Hangover is my favorite movie dentist, any other input, movies I missed, anything?

Those are all good movies. I also like Finding Nemo

Steve Martin in Little Shop of Horrors! Hands down!:horns::horns:

Raise your hand if you've seen "The Dentist" #1 or #2. Best horror movies ever. Gosh they're bad...

i enjoyed the movie 'reign over me' with don cheadle and adam sandler

I watched this on On Demand a while back. It's a piece of **** B-movie but mildly amusing.

This is really cool. Jack Nicholson's first acting role:

There is some good dentist bashing in Good Luck Chuck. I think a plastic surgeon asks Dane Cook why he became a dentist and he says because he couldn't get into medical school. There are several other dentist bashing scenes too.

Man someone beat me to it. I liked Good Luck Chuck despite the dentist bashing. I just let it roll off, b/c you can't take life too serious. Hangover was the best, however.

Matthew Perry is a dentist in The Whole Nine Yards

How about Novocaine? haha

I dunno, I really liked Good Luck Chuck, yes there was dental bashing, but that dentist was getting some serious tail.... I haven't seen any TV show/movie with a doctor getting that much @ss (except of course Dr. Christian Troy)

Oh yeah, I forgot about Reign Over Me, that was a really good movie too and I don't even think they bashed dentists in that one. If Adam Sandler can make it through d-school, so can we!

houseguest any1? sinbad the comedian? novocain on the hands? FTW!

"Teeth" is by far the greatest movie of all time, hands down! :D

there's this movie with this black guy. I dont remember title but it is pretty funny

There was also a show called Carpoolers on a year or two ago.
It only lasted one season I believe but I thought it was hilarious and one of the main characters was a dentist and every episode provided some pretty good dentist jokes.

Does it bother anyone else that (besides a few exceptions) dentists in the movies or TV are always either:

1) White
2) Nerdy
3) Bald
4) Old
5) Complete a**holes

As a 21 year old black male I know that I for one don't fit any of these descriptions lol. Where are the young, attractive, popular dentists?? That's a show/movie that I would watch!

I actually liked the "he's just a dentist" joke in Hangover.
I found the reversal of the situation hilarious (when the stripper said she was happy to be married to a doctor now) lol fun times.

Dane Cook in Good Luck Chuck was white, but not nerdy, bald, old, or an a-hole, plus he got a ridiculous amount of women.

Don Cheadle in Reign Over Me was probably mid-thirties (not very old), and he wasn't white, nerdy, bald, or an a-hole. He's no Mekhi Phifer but still.

On an unrelated note, I think there was a scene in one of the Lethal Weapon movies where Mel Gibson and Danny Glover were in a dentist's office taking hits off of the nitrous. Fun stuff.

I realize that, hence the "besides a few exceptions" part. Reign Over Me is one of my favorite movies and while Good Luck Chuck isn't exactly a masterpiece it's definitely a fun watch.
