If you are currently working (or did work) in a veterinary-based position, what is/was your favorite part of the job?

I'm bored with bumming around waiting for the mailman!! 😛

I'm sure we'll all sound like clichés to an extent, but…

I really like the problem solving aspect and being ridiculously busy. My dog recently was in our hospital all day having a marathon of diagnostics and surgery and even though everything was more personal, it still was one of the best days I’ve had since I started school….one of those “oh yeah, that’s why I want to do this” feeling. That day *really* made me miss all the shadowing I used to do

I’ve always really liked teaching, so I also really enjoy client interaction- whether it’s talking about something simple and fixable to dealing with end of life/quality of life issues (really common in emergency).

i love it when we're incredibly busy too. it makes you think, move, and really get deep into what you're doing. i also love going in a room, taking history, and trying to figure out what test(s) we'd do, or some sort of diagnosis. then i mentally compare my steps with the doctor's. yes, nerd, right here. 😀

i also love cuddling the puppies and kittens that come in 😍

I quite like just chilling out with the clinic cat!!!

I think it's great to go to work every day with other co-workers who also love animals and are there to help them.
But I have to agree with HorseyVet as well, becasue I enjoy the client interactions, especially when they are so grateful for all the small things that you can do for them. And when they aren't so grateful, at least you know their pets still like you!

When I actually get to watch surgeries and the vet explains everything to me step by step, and when I get to do tech stuff with the animals...
