Does anyone know about the process of Fee waivers? It says on the website that it takes 2-4 weeks for it to be processed, so basically I can't submit my application now until I get approved for the fee waiver? So this also means I will be behind on the verification process? (which i'm told is one of the longest parts of the whole entire application cycle) How would I know if my application for the fee waiver has been received? Do I get an emaiL? snail mail? or should I call them. Do you guys think July will be late? competitively speaking* Thanks in advance!

you do have to wait until the fee waiver is approved to submit your application. Its probably too late to give this advice now but you should have applied for it waaay in advance. It usually does take the 2-4 weeks for them to approve it and you will get something in the mail. Keep this letter because you may have to submit it with your secondaries in case you are able to waive the secondary fees. If you want to save some money, I would still suggest you go for it since it is still early in the application process. Just get everything in on time and you'll be fine. In my experience, I saved tons of money applying to both the AAMC and AACOMAS fee waiver, so go for it!

I totally agree with what the previous poster said. If you can qualify for a fee waiver then you should try to get it. My wife was granted one and it saved us a lot of money. Not just on the application, but also on the secondaries. Almost every school waived the secondary fee as long as she could mail/fax them proof that she was awarded a fee waiver. Which, as justh0ang mentioned you will get in the mail from AACOMAS.

As far as if July will be too late--I really don't think so, of course some of that depends on your stats.

Good luck!
