hey guys, I plan to start studying for board some time during the middle of this month and am scheduled to take the exam 3rd week of June. i was really stuck between using kaplan lecture books and going through the golden four (UWorld, First Aid, Goljan RR, BRS Phys). I'm a little hesitant because I question my foundations even though I've done well in all of my classes. I plan on reading through Goljan (3rd edition) rapid review page to page along with the subjects in First Aid, and BRS phys. This will be my first pass. I'm not sure how long this will realistically take me but i hope to be done with first pass by early April. I'll also be using UWorld for question bank and hopefully be complete by early may. I will then cap it off by taking DIT course for 15-20 days. Will this formula help me get a 240-260?
I also have Cases for the USMLE First aid and First aid Q&A book. I haven't heard much about these books but I was wondering if any one that used them can give me feedback on their effectiveness.
I'm taking a practice NBME some time in January. Is there a minimum score that i should be getting on my first practice (before my studying begins) that would tell me my foundation is sufficient enough that I won't need a commercial course like kaplan (which I heard is overkill but good for people who lack foundation) and be successful using the golden four mentioned above?
