Ill start by saying mcat is this saturday. I took the 1st AAMC FL a while back. I put off taking the 2nd until very end and still havent taken it. Although I have completed all other AAMC material. At this point, Im feeling pretty burnt out. I have been studying all summer! Is it worth taking last FL or no? Thanks guys!

If I was in this situation I would test, void, and reschedule because I would feel like I didn't take advantage of an important AAMC source.

If you stick with testing on Saturday make sure to take the next 2 days off (with some light review maybe) or you risk testing in a burnt out state which will undoubtedly cost you some points.

Have you been getting consistently good practice scores?

If you've only done 1 FL in total (AAMC+others) I wouldn't sit this test date.

Burnout is real. Your best bet going into test day is to be fresh. At this point you know what you know and you don't what you don't. Having your mental stamina is your biggest asset.

Agreed. One practice test will not make much of a difference if you are well-prepared from an academic and timing perspective. However, I do think being fatigued on exam day can make a difference. I'd say take it easy tomorrow, get a good sleep, eat well, and be prepared for the exam. If that means not taking another practice exam, so be it.

I'd say if you're not going to take another practice test (I took them all; 1 a day before) then you might want to void it. You'd be taking a gamble on getting it scored only to have to possibly retake it later. Granted, a retake or 2 might not be too bad but that would be yet another factor in your application.

The AAMC tests give you a pretty good read on where you are, so I would advise just busting one out if you want this to be your last one (one & done mentality). I came into my MCAT off a caffeine high & with a 5 hr in my pocket. I didn't get some rock-star score, but I ended up higher than I expected & right where I needed to be to qualify for a few programs I assumed were out of my league.

Also, be honest with yourself about the score you want to have & the score you can achieve. I know that with more time, money, family support, etc. I could have scored better but it came down to what are my motives & priorities. If you manage to finish one today & you can live with the score then go ahead. It's only a test & if you just want to be a doctor with no specific top/higher level universities in mind then that's okay.
