Hey all,

I did not so well this past semester and am having a difficult time picking myself back up. I know I need to stay strong and finish my senior year off strong but it's looking really difficult right now.

I am beyond discouraged. Most people in my class cheated and got As and I ended up with a measly B+ in these classes. Granted I could have maybe worked harder but I am just so depressed and bitter currently.

Did anyone else have a not so great semester? How do you pick yourself back up after a rough semester?

I'm sorry but your class is garbage if cheaters can get an A and the prof does nothing. What are your cGPA and sGPA? One B+ won't hurt you, but i recommend getting academic counseling to fix up your flaws and depression. Each completed semester is a thing of the past, so ignore the bad ones and move on

No one gets an A solely through cheating, and there's no way that "most" people in your class cheated.

You were not there. People literally showed up on the days of the exams and used their phone all throughout. So yes most did cheat.

Look, I get that you're upset that others have done better in classes by taking the easy way out. But, that's not an explanation or reason for your grades. You need to grow up a little (no offense) and take some responsibility for YOURSELF. Do some introspection on what you could have done to do better in those courses?

You clearly have made big improvement each year and your GPA is getting there. Keep doing what you have been doing and ignore all the BS that comes from the folks around you. Remember, your transcript only lists your grades...not anyone else's, or a grade distribution, etc.

So you have a good upward trend, have an average cGPA and subpar sGPA. It's not that bad since i think you're getting a 34-39 equivalent on the MCAT. Just keep doing as planned, seek counseling when falling into depression (or ask me to play some songs in my guitar 😉), and ignore the cheaters. But man, your department (i think biology?) is terrible if cheating is pervasive

only on SDN are people discouraged by a single B+... it's an interesting amalgam of stupidity and intelligence

This should help you out. It's knocking on your door.

My two Bs from freshman year still haunt me 😛

SDN is indeed very type A. I think it takes some initiative to go looking for medical school admissions advice on the Internet.

You should just attend my State University... the amount of people you overhear talking about how ecstatic they'd be just passing their classes is astounding.
