Hi all

I graduated from my undergrad institution 2 yrs ago with a bs in biology. At the time I didn't want to pursue a career in medicine and didn't really care how I did my last two years as long as I passed. I ended up with a 2.91 cgpa and a 2.76 sgpa. Unfortunately my undergrad institution won't let me retake a course I previously passed even if I take it as an open university student so I'm going to have to take the majority at cc and some upper division classes that I previously haven't taken at the university. I would like to hear your opinions on what would be the wisest decision in my situation and if anyone else has had similar stats and was able to turn it around. Thank you!

You can retake coursework at any CC or 4 year schools. It doesn't have to be at your UG schools.

Retake all F/D/C science coursework and do well on MCAT., and you should be fine.

OR, if you can only get your cGPA to around 3.0, do a SMP and ace it.

Thank you goro for the response. What about B-? towards the last 3 semesters I mostly had B-. I wasn't planning on repeating anything from a solid B and up and also how old can a prerequisite be before being considered too old and if I do take a class at another university is it ok if the name of the course is slightly different but the same course description?

Do NOT retake a B-.
And pre-recs are good for a long time. They don't expire like MCAT scores do.

Concur strongly with Goro as I usually do. The vast majority of schools don't have an expiration date (I have pre-reqs. that are 8+ years old). There will be exceptions, but I don't know of any on the DO side.
