So I recently took the MCAT and did not score as well (9, 4, 10) as I would have liked (shooting for low 30s). I was rattled by the physical sciences and didn't get a chance to mark several answers since I ran out of time. This really impacted my performance in verbal as I just sat there thinking about voiding. I managed to finish the exam and test my luck. I was averaging 7-9's on verbal on the practice AAMC's, so I know I can score higher. I really want to apply this cycle but I'm not sure what to do. Should I study from now until August and retake it? If so, would I still have a shot at getting interviews or is it too late? I have my application ready but I haven't turned it in yet.
My overall and science gpa is 3.97. I have pretty good extracurriculars with plenty of research and volunteer experience as well as strong LOR's. Should I wait to take the MCAT later this year and take a year off? Any help would be appreciated!

I would say a year off, getting your MCAT back and primaries in at the end of September is way too late. You would have a challenging time even with a strong score that late to the game, and even if you are able to hit that 30, you're not going to be competitive for the relatively few ii slots available by the time you get everything in. Take a year off, retake your MCAT and get it into a good range, and keep up with your EC's and improve any other weak points in the next year.

take a year off and work on you verbal

I wouldn't rush it this year if I were you. Take the extra year to improve all areas of your application, and have all of it ready to go in time to submit early next cycle.
