Hi,

Has anyone known a psych resident who then completed a behavioral neuro/neuropsych fellowship? I understand the two are "one and the same" (discussed ad nauseaum on sdn), but just wanted to see what people's experiences have been like in fellowship and thereafter...Or perhaps you know someone who knows someone? It seems like not too many people pursue this route.
Thanks!

hi again,
I'm getting the vibe my post was an hypothesis that proved itself right? not that popular of a fellowship?

We have 2 neuropsychiatrists and were considering adding a third at my program. They run a specalized part of the inpatient unit, which frequently have 8-10 pts on it, all of which have "neurologic" brain disease (including some fascinating stuff like vanishing white matter disease, brain tumors, etc.), have MR, or are autism spectrum. They do neuropsych inpatient consults (usually for the neurology service and the neurosurgeons). Any remaining time is seeing patients in clinic and they are booked out quite a ways. Seems to be a very cool profession for those who love all of the brain but maybe have a behavioral slant.
