For all you academic-related guys out there,

I'm currently interviewing for pain fellowships and have a few interviews under my belt, with a couple of offers. However these are somewhat time-sensitive and I have to make up my mind. Problem is, I haven't heard back yet from the program I liked the most. I am worried that by waiting to hear back from them, I may lose my other spots. Is it kosher to let that program know about my situation? The program director seemed like a very nice, approachable guy.
Any advice, especially from those in the academic world, is appreciated.

Ask the program you like for a rough time to receive a decision, emphasize that you are not trying to rush them, but that you may lose other spots if you don't let them know, then ask your back up programs if you could wait until after that time to make a decision.
