Have any of you guys encountered any of these in your practices or residencies? I ask because with the US being such a melting pot there's women from different cultures and plenty of Africans, Muslims and Asians who might come from where this is practiced. Have you had to deal with surgical repair, if possible in more severe cases such as in infibulation? What are the psychological effects or complications that you may have dealt with if any? There are different forms of FGM so fill me in on what you've encountered.
