I'm a first year med student and I just came to the realization that not every teaching hospital offers every residency program. Obviously it's really early in the game for me, but I decided to check out neuro match outcomes for Illinois on scutwork.com since it is a specialty that I plan on looking into and also because I will probably want to stay in Illinois.

When I looked up the available residencies, only two programs were listed, one in Peoria and the other in Springfield. I was very surprised that there wasn't a single program in Chicago. Can anyone enligten me as to why this might be the case? Is it just that there are few spots at random hospitals or is there something else going on?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

SF Match website has a list of residency programs in the U.S. Go to: www.sfmatch.org. Click neurology then publick directory. You will find general info on the neurology match there also. Hope it helps!

What do you think of the U Ill in Chicago program?

an easier way to just browse program listings is to go through the FRIEDA online search. it lets you modify your search by many criterions. however the info is not as accurate and updated as the sf match info. but then, to see detailed information on sfmatch, you need a password.

to get to frieda listings:
