Curious if anyone has a sketch on how to perform a figure 8 suture in the oral cavity or some information on how to do one. Looked in various books and online, and cant find a good explanation or sketch. Thus, still confused. Help, anyone?
 
Lets say you do a buccal and lingual flap to extract #21. Here is how the figure 8 would be used to adapt the flap back around #20:

Coming from the buccal the needle engages the buccal papillae, pull through and then engage the lingual papillae (from the lingual aspect) pull through tie your knot. You are simply engaging the papilla from the outer aspects.
