I'm looking to do some file review work during my off time. A few of the places I've spoke to say that I don't need to carry malpractice insurance for this, because there is no direct patient care involved with this type of work. My primary malpractice policy will not cover me for it.

Do any of the EM Docs on here who do file reviews have malpractice insurance specific for this (Carry your own policy)? Or do you just review without it.

Of note, anyone I've ever spoken to has said they've never heard of a physician being sued over a file review.

Thanks in advance
