Hi,
I just had a quick question with regards for filing taxes. Our school fin aid stuff is due ealier this year since we start the third year earlier. This is the first year I did not earn any money what so ever. Do I still have to file? I haev nothing to report. If I do still have to do my taxes, is there somewhere I can do it for free online? Thanks

If all of your income was derived from financial aid and you have no other income, such as from capitals gains or property sales, then you will likely not have to file. If you want to file on line you can try things like turbo tax on quicken.com but that will cost 20 dollars. As far as filing for free you can go to the irs.gov website and file for free there.

FASFA has an option that lets you state that you did not have to file a tax return this year. There is no need to file if you had no income.
