Finalizing the rank list

Starting to feel the anxiety of making my list feel "right". As I'm finalizing the rank list, I'm finding that the programs nearest my home location are rising up the list over bigger name places that are farther away. How's everyone feeling?

Yeah I'm totally with you that. Some of the bigger names on my list definitely started falling down it as I thought about where'd I like to live for the next four years!

Yup, it's scary to move somewhere across the country, especially if the only exposure to a specific location is an overnight stay and an interview. That's why a lot of places may send invites out to people who have "ties to the area" as they know that applicants tend to value location/city very highly.
