Hello all! Finished my DAT today. I never wanna hear about PV=nRT again in my whole life! lol. I'm no child prodigy so my score aren't 25s but I took the DAT two years ago and got a 16 AA (yes, you heard that right), so I'm pretty happy to say the least! If you put in the work and the time, you can do it too!

First of all, I want to start with a thanks to all on here on SDN. If I ever found myself confused or unmotivated I knew where to go! A little background on how I studied: It's been about 12 weeks of hell. I was taking the iprepdental course and it was basically like having a real life chad or Dr Ramano! After that, I supplemented with Chads videos if I was lacking on some things and read Feralis every night. I can't say this enough. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! I not only did topscore, achiever, and destroyer, I also did that new DAT Booster book. Literally I'm pretty sure I had like 4 of the exact same questions from Booster on my exam.
PAT (18): Honestly, I didn't really practice for this section as much as the others, I didn't buy CDP (honestly I wouldn't waste the money) the best thing to get is Bootcamp. They may be a littler harder on bootcamp but if you do them enough it's worth it! You'll breeze through. I only did 2 of the exams (I was way more worried about bio and math) but I did use their simulations for pattern folding.
On the real DAT, I spent so much time on TFE I didn't even get to answer all the questions! Half way through I started freaking out. I didn't even count my cubes right I'm sure of it. Timing is a big deal! Make sure you have a plan of action and practice timing!
QR (19): Leading up to this I was freaking out. I heard the QR bug was going around and it was horrible! I thought bootcamp was COMPLETE overkill! I almost wish I hadn't wasted my time trying. The most representative I would say was definitely the Math Destroyer and the Math section on Topscore! Again. Work on timing.
During the exam, I literally just put C and marked like ten questions I knew would take forever because I knew I would run out of time! And of course I did! There were a lot of plug and chugs, lots of rates. I had 2 probabilities, and 1 stat question.
RC (23): Bootcamp is overkill for this. I did one and thought I was going to get a 14 on this section. I would says Topscore was the closest representation. The real thing was a little longer and there were a few implied questions/authors tone, but nothing crazy!
I did straight search and destroy and finished with time to spare!
(THE GOOD STUFF)
Bio (21): WOW. Just. WOW. I was so worried about this section and how random it would be! But honestly if you've been practicing you'll see all the same concepts over and over again. I read cliffs in the beginning but then just went straight to feralis. I also watch crash course videos on youtube (Hank Greene, you're a lifesaver and I think I'm in love with you) For this section I would definitely day the DAT Booster saved my ass! Like I said, I'm pretty sure I had 4 questions straight from there. I would do the booster and then read why all the other choices were wrong. I thought destroyer was good but I only finished half of it the topics sometimes were so random and I was just picking all of the above for most of the answers. Topscore for this section is so bad! The wording is not the same. I also thought Bootcamp did a great representation! I did all 5 of the bio and that review. Feralis! Omg I could kiss the ground you walk on! Literally, It laid next to me and I woke up to it every day and went to sleep with it every night. Ferallis + Booster + Bootcamp = Golden.
GC (22)/OC (21): I did the DAT destroyer so many times I can tell you which page contains which questions! Of course it's harder than the real thing but that's good because it builds your understanding. If you start doing it for the first time and miss 9/10 don't worry, I was right there too! After you do it the second time, you get the hang of it! Bootcamp was pretty good for this section as well. I wouldn't say overkill but I think the real thing wan't as wordy. Again I would say Booster was most representative for both these sections. The real thing was straight forward! One step reactions, plugged in values. Just practice and make a formula sheet. Make sure you understand all your rule like solubility, acidity, and stuff. Booster and bootcamp did a good job of drilling those concepts!
