I know that this probably varies greatly by school, but when does your financial aid (balance) get reimbursed to you? As a first year, I am interested to know this so I can figure out how to pay the first month's rent/utilities etc I asked my school finaid department and they were very vague.

I think I heard the first check comes in June, but using that info I'm planning on it coming in August. Hah! But seriously, I think June/July it comes?
I'm 2013, too, so I don't have any experience to back it up.

It depends when your semester starts. If you use direct deposit (highly recommended), the disbursement will come about the second week of class and then you'll see the check/deposit less than a week later.

So, as I feared, I will probably need to have 1st, last, security and hookup fees and wait for the check to cover the second month...

Schools are not allowed to distribute the money until you are already enrolled. Unfortunately, that usually means students need to have cash available for start-up expenses (moving, apt deposit, etc). It can make life really tough!!!! Good luck!!!!

I know our first semester hasn't even started and I have access to every aspect of the school's system, and I think we're considered enrolled by the school.
