This may be a stupid question, but what is the typical timeline for finding out financial aid packages offered to us from school's we've been accepted to? Obviously, how much scholarship money received is key a factor in deciding on which school to attend. When do schools typically tell you how much scholarship money you may get? Is there a separate application process? Is the process unique to each school? Do the schools have to tell you before you decide on which one you are going to?

Sorry for all the questions but all of this was not made clear at my interviews and I didn't really know how to ask because I wasn't accepted at that point.

The exact deadlines may very well be different at other schools but at the school I was accepted to we have to submit the FAFSA and Need Access forms by April 1st. They told us we'd hear back about our financial aid packages mid-April.

This makes sense as this is right around tax season and tax information is needed for the FAFSA. Also, I would think that schools would give out fin aid packages before April 30th--the last day to hold multiple acceptances--so that way people accepted to multiple schools can make choices based on finances.
