Ok, guys, I know it is sometimes easier to post everything in pre-allo when that is the only forum you check...BUT we have special forums for everything. If you have questions about residencies or rotations or FA, they don't belong in pre-allo. I've moved several threads over to the FA forum...just because there aren't a lot of posts in there doesn't mean it doesnt get read. 😉

Ok, now that I'm done scolding, lol, any posts pertaining to FAFSA, loans, scholarships, and aid in general should go in financial aid. Thanks a bunch!! 😀

i prefer that the FA posts stay here... thanks

It seems that the Financial aid issues apply to all of us at this moment. Also, this forum is read the most by us anyways. What is wrong with posting these questions here. They apply to US. It's understandable to not post Allo questions, DO questions, and all these other things in here as those won't apply to a majority of the people here. Also, people most qualified to answer those questions will be in those forums, but the people qualified for the finan aid questions ARE in this fourm.

Just my opinion.

X

I also agree, that information was actually helping me out a bit, and educating me about fin. aid and FAFSA.

It seems that the posts were moved for the sole purpose of "moderating something". yeah, i see the point about there being a forum for Financial aid, but a better move might have been to just remove that forum alltogether, no one goes there anyway.

🙄

I didn't know debt = financial aid. I thought debt = absence of financial aid. 😉

Yes, I'm feeling like a smart ass.

If you visited over there, you'd see that actually people DO visit. We have quite a handful of people who know EVERYTHING about financial aid and they check in about every other day or so and tell people things. And almost everything has been addressed once already so there is actually the answer to your question sitting there.

I understand that you are a pre-allo student right now and check this forum, but it isn't hard to just scroll down to the FA forum every now and then. If we had financial aid questions in every forum on here, we wouldn't get far with answers, so it is just easier to lump them all together. So as long as the FA forum is here, it may as well get used. 🙂 Normally, I leave things where they are, but this is fafsa season so the large number of aid questions belong over there.

You'll find that most topics are presently sitting on the first or second page right now so check there first...you may get your answers quicker. And it isn't like I closed your threads, you can easily follow the re-direct link without having to do anything. Thanks.

although moving the stuff to financial aid forum is better in long term, i kinda agree w/ fatmike that leaving it in pre-allo is good since there's more visitors and thus greater likelihood that threads will receive response. i think a good solution would be to leave a thread on pre-allo for 3-7 days, then move it. that'd give everyone a chance to take a look at it.

AAAAARRRRRGGGHGHGH

SO IT WAS YOU WHO MOVED THAT THREAD...
+pissed+ +pissed+ +pissed+
here's what I wrote on that thread:

To Whom It May Concern:
I STRONGLY resent the movement of this thread to the financial aid forum:
1) THE WORDS FINANCIAL AID ONLY APPEAR ONCE IN THIS ENTIRE THREAD
2) THE POINT OF THIS THREAD IS TO START A DIALOGUE ON DEBT REPAYMENT WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FINANCIAL AID
3) THE NAIVETE DISPLAYED IN MOVING THIS THREAD IS JUST ANOTHER EXPRESSION OF THE ENDEMIC IGNORANCE OF PRE-MEDS TO THE ISSUE OF ACTUAL PAYING FOR MEDICAL SCHOOL
it is a significant issue and one which is all too often marginalized.
sorry for ranting - but i really believe that you have done a strong disservice to the pre-med community by moving this thread.
i mean does anyone even come in to this forum? and when they do isnt it usually more about finacial aid and dates and requirements and yadiyah.
MOVE IT BACK!!!

Dear Moderator:

I want FA stuff in this forum. I think others agree. So don't be a forum nazi and leave it in here... thanks

Even though I do check the FA forum, I've been very tempted to post FA questions in pre-Allo. Over there, some folks have been helpful, but the volume of responses is much less than here. I had a question about credit rating the other day and would have appreciated a few more opinions.

Also, there might be quite a few, esp. new members, who don't know about it. I agree, if the FA threads were left in pre-Allo at least during the next few weeks, then there wouldn't be so many repetitive FA threads.

It'd be great if there's anything you could do @ this, moderators. Thanks!
