For anyone who was considering applying for FAP, but thought it might hold up your application for a significant amount of time, I sent in the info on Monday, standard mail, and received confirmation today that I was approved. Fast turn around time.

Irishmom, could you tell me what you sent in the packet? I'm a little confused about that. Did you send a "letter of explanation" (what ever that is)?

I sent the cover letter, a copy of my taxes from last year, (I am old enough that I didn't have to send my parents forms, but if you are born after Jan 1, 1988 you need to send theirs too) and mine and my husbands w-2 and 1099 forms. Basically what you sent to the IRS, send to AADSAS.

I was born on 1987, and the portal won't let me submit it without my parent's tax information. I emailed FAPAADSAS, and they told me I don't have to turn in my parent's 1040 forms. Then what's the point of filling out the info on the website? Is there a mistake on the website?
