Hi,
Does anybody know how to provide the financial statement asked as a requirement while applying for the D.D.S. program?
Actually it would really be nice if anyone could enlighten me if it is really a must to provide this requirement now itself as I have heard from few of the schools that I need not show them until I get an admission into the school. Seems like a problem to show this requirement right away.
Thanks in advance.

Try to apply for a loan, if you are elligible they will preapprove it pending admission to that particular university.

Well,
When I talked to the uop people and told them that I cannot furnish it till admission time they say that it is really not important as of now but incase a candidate is accepted then he/she would be given 2 weeks before which one needs to show that the candidate has the required financial resources to support the study.

However they said that you can go ahead applying without the required financials with a written letter stating your visa status and that if admitted you have a cosigner that could help you with the loan.

goodluck!

I am facing this problem of finanical statement with USC. I got a letter from them stating the missing documentation. Do you have any idea about how things go on in USC?
Please help.
Thanks

USC is a bit picky abt it. I had to show them the financial statement before I could get them off my back.

hi henna
i would like to know what one should wirte in the finacail stament ... as in do i ned to showa bank statement or justa letter form the person who is going to sponser me ..

You should sent them documents that shows there is funds available, be it bank statments or stocks or line of credit, I doubt if letter by itself will carry weight.

I am on a H4 visa so i dont require an I20......USC asked about the financial statement if u require an I20 if u r on a student visa....so i didnt enclose just enclosed my visa status....will there be a problem.....correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Hi Cherry,

I am also on H4 and thought same as u did, and not provided Financial statement at the time of application. But once my application packet was received, they send me a letter asking for Financial statement showing $81K in my bank account. So we went there to meet the Admission officer at USC but unfortunately he was on leave. But then after few days we got hold of him finally and what he told was, "even though you are on a valid visa status in US and do not requires a Student Visa, USC Still needs to issue an I-20 and for that we need Financial Statement of who ever is going to support/sponsor you."

I am working on getting a sponsorship letter from a Green card Holder or US Resident..as I think it will be really difficult for an H1 holder to have $81K in account!!!!!!

I faced the same problem with USC. When I enquired with them, they said, I quote,
"Even if you dont want an I-20 for the student- visa, USC should be assured that you are in a position to pay your Tuition and that can be done only with your financial statement."

And this Financial statement would include a Bank Statement from your sponsorer indicating the available funds(81k minimum) and a covering letter stating that he/she is willing to sponser you.

Hope this helps

Hi Cherry

I applied to UOP and I did just like ek_dds did, submitted a letter stating that I plan to opt for private loan and that I already have a co-signer. No finantial statement at all.

UOP wrote me an email confirming my application arrival and they said it IS complete. I sure hope this is true, and they won't require some finantial statement in the future.

Maybe you should try this method, 'cause their deadline is approaching. Is November 1st (saturday). So probably if you don't complete your application by then, you could have yours dismissed. Hurry up!!

Thanks Meggs and ek_dds......I sent a fax and talked to UOP people they said that should be fine....thanks again.
