I plan to match in PM&R in a few weeks and I think my chances are good but I am less confident about the intern positions I appied to. Many of the Prelims/trans years are pretty competitive and most of the PM&R programs I ranked are advanced programs. I am thinking about trying to find an open Osteopathic trad. rot. intern year if I dont match at an Allo intern spot. But, I didnt participate in the DO match. How would I go about doing this? Anyone ever do this before? Thanks.

goto do-online.org, see what spots are open. call the programs, they will tell you to fax your stuff in. done deal. the only problem may be finding a program in a desirable location. but ultimately it is only 1 year of your life.

yes, you can log in to the AOA match site off of the National Matching Services website and see what positions were available on Feb. 9th. The AOA sent an email with PDF out giving instructions. They created a public username and password for people who did not even sign up for the AOA match so anyone can log in and find out the program information and contact the programs directly.

keep in mind this list has not been updated since Feb 9th and many of those posted positions are now filled. there still may be some open TR's out there so it couldn't hurt you to try.

PM me for details or if you need the username and pw info.

Just a curious question here. Would a TRI count for an allopathic PM&R residency? I assumed that all your primary training had to be in one college or the other (AOA vs ACGME) but I admit I don't know the answer. Just something to think or at least inquire about.

all of your training does not have to be aoa or acgme. lots of DO's use osteopathic TRI's to meet the internship requirement for PM&R, Rads, GAS, etc. this is actually very common.

Thanks . I found the list from feb. 9th.
