Finding D.O's to shadow

Hi, i'm sure this question's been asked before, but I'm from the Boston Massachusetts area and was wondering how I could get in contact with a D.O. to find one that will allow me to shadow them and hopefully get a letter of recommendation from them.

I just googled mapped "osteopathic physicians" in my area and went down the list. I found a DO to shadow by the 3rd try. Good luck!

How did you contact them/get them to let them shadow? I've tried contacting 6 physicians through the mentor exchange, and have yet to receive a reply from any of them.

How did you go about contacting them/getting them to let you shadow?

I specifically called DOs working at small practices. When I called, a secretary typically picked up, and I'd state my intent. She'd then ask the DO if they took job shadowers. By the 3rd call, I had a DO say yes. They asked me to fax over my resume. Within the hour the secretary called me back and scheduled a meeting date with the DO.

I got lucky. A couple weeks after contacting the few that were in my area one of them (the only one that did) got back to me and I was able to meet and shadow him.
