I am doing an away rotation next year and would like to know how you typically set up housing. Is there some service the hospital has or is renting a room on craigslist the best way to go?

There is the rotatingroom.com website, but I found Craifslist sublets to be the best way to go. I did 4 away rotations and stayed at 4 different places I found on craigslist.

You can also contact the affiliated medical school's campus life director and send out an ad to its med students who may have a spare bedroom to rent out.

When I did a rotation in Albuquerque the medical education dept there had a list of residents who rented rooms out for students rotating. It worked out well, was within walking distance to the hospital. Cost a few hundred for a 4 week stay.

i used craigslist with a lot of success
remember, it's only temporary. 2-4 weeks top.

Alot of students are using rotatingroom.com. It's alot easier to work out a deal and students build connections. Makes it easier to get a free place to stay during interview season.
