Finding Moonlighting

Does anyone have any strategies for finding moonlighting opportunities? Most of the residents in my program moonlight at state hospitals with a 2-3 hr drive, but I'm considering moonlighting even farther away. If the pay is good, I would be willing to fly somewhere to moonlight for a weekend. How can I find out about moonlighting outside of my community?

search "locum tenens", contact the companies, tell them what you want, and start comparing opportunities and contracts.

senior residents, attendings in your program, and attendings outside your program (at the places where peer residents are now moonlighting) will likely have ideas and opinions about companies.
