finding out info on interviewers?

Is it fair game to ask the residency program coordinator who will be interviewing applicants on my scheduled interview day?

I don't know but usually there are more interviewers than you will have interviews. For example you will likely have 3 interviews and there will be ~10 interviewers. You might wind up doing a lot of useless leg work and just confusing yourself.

just google the dept the day or so before interviewing and check out the faculty, particularly those doing things you are interested in.

it pays to be prepared. and it really helps, in fact. lots of them even have pics so you can recognize who people are when you're there.

I always ask if I can please see my schedule ahead of time. If you are nice about it, I don't see why they should mind. The worst that can happen is they'll say no, and if they say yes, it is nice to look faculty up on the department website to give you things to talk about.

this sounds nice in theory, but in practice do you really want to spend your limited time there kissing up to an attending and hearing him/her talk about their research interests (unless of course they're also your own)? aren't interviews supposed to be about: 1) you and 2) the program? in general people either get along or they don't, and that likely is more personality dependant rather than whether you share research interests, which is what i've found most faculty websites talk about.

now if you find a school that talks about their faculties' love of windsurfing and rare stamps, then you're money.
