Hi I am an IMG waiting to match into residency. I was wondering how I can find a research position I can work on while waiting for residency. I dont have any research background so I dont know how much that will affect me in finding a position

thank you

Look at the closest programs website to see who runs their research program and send them an email with your CV. If you have lots of time during the day, tell them. To be honest, though, we get quite a number of emails from IMGs looking for research positions, both funded and unfunded - so you'll need to show your motivation.

I am assuming you are interested in clinical research?

thank you for reply and yes I am interested in clinical research this would give some new experience which I am willing to look forward and also want to get some research published

Were you able to find an opportunity for research? How did the search go?

no not yet, 1 place wanted me for a year as a volunteer, and I was worried if I match into residency I would have to leave half way through
